Get gory for Halloween and help the local Red Cross

If you’re looking for gory, realistic-looking make-up to add to your Halloween costume, American Red Cross volunteers have just the thing, and it will help the community at the same time. American Red Cross, Sonoma & Mendocino Counties is setting up a moulage center on Saturday, October 31 (Halloween Day) from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Coddingtown Mall on Guerneville Road in Santa Rosa. Both kids and adults are invited to participate in the fundraiser.

Moulage is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training emergency response teams and other volunteers in disaster drills. American Red Cross moulage artists will be applying make-up to create realistic looking lacerations, bruises, gashes, broken bones, and poked-out eyeballs. The cost will be $5.00 to $15.00 per fake wound.

Proceeds will help the Red Cross provide services to local people who lose their homes to fires, floods, earthquakes, and other disasters. The event is at Coddingtown Center in the old Classic Duck Store location (near Macy’s).
